Bio 

Tianyi Li,

Dance Artist | Choreographer | Educator

Tianyi Li (b. 1998) is a London-based dance artist whose work spans contemporary dance, classical ballet, and Chinese dance. She holds a Master’s degree in Dance Performance from the University of Chichester.

Her choreographic approach is rooted in fluidity and transformation, drawing from ballet, Tai Chi, and modern dance to create a movement vocabulary that transcends stylistic boundaries. Tianyi’s work often embodies the philosophical principles of Taoism—softness, continuity, and the unseen energy between gestures—resulting in a contemporary style that is both deeply personal and globally resonant.

Tianyi Li is an accomplished dance educator. She teaches Associate students at The Royal Ballet School, where she shares her expertise in ballet and contemporary technique with young dancers of exceptional potential.

She also teach professional level contemporary class in Rambert dance company 2025 .  

As the Artistic Director of the London Chinese Dance School and the UK-China Dance Association, Tianyi has shaped cross-cultural dance education in the UK with a strong commitment to both technical precision and expressive development. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in musicality, spatial awareness, and the cultivation of individuality—empowering each student to find their own artistic voice through movement. As a dancer, she has collaborated with renowned international choreographers, including Keira Martin, Donald Edward, Geoff Dunlop, Yael Flexer, Sarah Golding. Her appearances span leading venues such as The Place UK, Royal Theatre Winchester, and The Point . Representing China in a cross-cultural exchange alongside youth delegates from 30 countries in CPPCC. Her work has featured in major international events and media, including Nouvelle d'Europe, CCTV Art, China Daily, and Seeing Dance UK.  She associated a dance film Distanz, created during the Covid-19 pandemic to bridge dialogue between China and Germany, was nominated at the Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival in China.
